Bengals Cut Veteran QB On Monday

A season that promised Super Bowl dreams has taken unexpected turns for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Despite having offensive powerhouses Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase, the team has struggled to meet their lofty preseason expectations.

Burrow himself has dubbed this the most frustrating year of his career, yet at 7-8, playoff hopes are still alive for Cincinnati if they can navigate their remaining games successfully.

As the Bengals gear up for a final playoff push, roster moves are reshaping the team’s composition.

The organization announced via their official Twitter that they’re bringing up defensive lineman Isaiah Thomas from the practice squad to bolster their active roster.

This promotion comes with a tough decision – the team has waived veteran quarterback Logan Woodside.

Woodside’s journey with Cincinnati has been a winding one. After starting the season on the practice squad, he earned his spot on the active roster on December 14.

Now waived, his future with the team hangs in the balance until Tuesday’s waiver deadline.

Given that Jake Browning currently stands as the lone backup to Burrow, the Bengals might look to bring Woodside back to their practice squad, maintaining their quarterback depth for the crucial games ahead.

Throughout his NFL career, Woodside’s game experience has been quite limited – 13 appearances with four completions on seven attempts, totaling 34 yards.

While he hasn’t found the end zone, he has thrown one interception during his time in the league.

As Cincinnati navigates these roster adjustments, fans are watching closely to see if these changes can help turn the tide on what’s been a rollercoaster season for the Bengals.
