NFL Insider Ignites Speculation of Issues Between Aaron Rodgers, Garrett Wilson

The New York Jets’ terrible performance this season has led to an implosion within the team. Wide receiver Garrett Wilson could be the latest person in the organization to air his issues.

After the firing of the head coach and general manager, issues within the organization were boiling over. Now, NFL insider Rich Cimini has suggested that Wilson and Aaron Rodgers might be at odds with each other as well.

Rich Cimini Suggests Garrett Wilson’s Issues Stem From Aaron Rodgers

After the Jets’ 19-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, Wilson had a lot to say about his performance on the field. The 24-year-old had expressed his frustration at not being targeted enough.

“I’d like to be involved, love to make an impact on the game, but people see it differently,” Wilson said at the press conference. “That’s out of my control.”

During Cimini’s appearance on ESPN’s podcast, he dissected the word “people” used by Wilson. “I think he means Aaron Rodgers. I truly believe there is something going on there between them.”

Wilson has caught the ball 90 times this season for 987 yards and six TDs.

While Wilson hasn’t been Rodgers’ main target since the arrival of Davante Adams, he has garnered 8.2 targets per game.

Wilson Sings Praise of Mike LaFleur Amidst Trade Rumors

After their loss, Wilson couldn’t help but say good things about Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur, fuelling the trade rumors even more. LaFleur worked as the Jets’ OC in 2021 and 2022.

“I got to see him a little before the game,” Wilson said to the media. “Love him. Obviously my rookie year, looking back on it, it was a special time and I might have took it for granted.”

“But I love him, man — to see how he’s helping that offense and watching them today and coming in with their plan to run the ball and how they executed,” he added.

During his appearance, Wilson also added that he wouldn’t sit here idly and not be able to help the team. Both Rodgers and interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich didn’t respond to Wilson’s comments.
