Robert Griffin III Calls Out Eric Dickerson For Stance On Rushing Record

Saquon Barkley has a chance to make history in Week 18.

He recently became the ninth player in NFL history to crack the 2,000-yard threshold, putting him in elite territory.

Philadelphia Eagles fans were excited when they heard about Barkley joining the team, but his impact has been nothing short of spectacular.

He’s helped the Eagles’ offense return to a dominant place, setting them up for what fans hope will be a deep playoff run.

The history doesn’t stop with him achieving 2,000 yards, as he has a chance to break Eric Dickerson’s single-season record, needing 101 yards to make that happen.

However, the Eagles find themselves in a complicated situation heading into Week 18, as they are locked into the playoffs and don’t have much to play for.

Barkley and his coaches will need to decide if he should play until he breaks the record, or if he should sit out entirely, waiting for the playoffs to make his impact felt.

Regardless of what he decides, Robert Griffin III recently called out Eric Dickerson on X, who has been less than thrilled about the possibility of Barkley breaking his record.

“I wanted Jayden Daniels to break my rookie rushing record because I’m not about rooting against the next generation. He earned it. He is the future. Some of these old heads need to stop drinking all that haterade and lift up these young guys instead of tearing them down,” Griffin said.

In Griffin’s eyes, former players should build up the new generation of NFL athletes, not tear them down.

He believes Dickerson doesn’t want the best for Barkley, an injustice, at least to him.

All eyes will be on the Eagles this weekend, who have a tough decision to make.
